Mphebatho Museum

The museum not only preserves the cultural and traditions of the Bakgatla-Ba-Kgafela for the community and visitors to the area, it has also become a place of learning where the community can engage in a number of arts and culture programmes

The Hub of BBK History, Culture and Heritage

In 1998 Kgosikgolo Linchwe II and the former Premier of the North West Province, Popo Molefe opened the Mphebatho Museum, one of the rural cultural museum in the North West Province. Housed in an old school building on the slopes of the Mmammitlwa Mountain, the building  was constructed  in 1937 by a Bakgatla-Ba-Kgafela  initiate regiment.
